RAFFAELLO THE GREAT
.the definition of perfection
.the definition of perfection
Tessa led Raffaello out of the stable, she had just finished grooming him and had tacked him up. Time for their afternoon ride. She smiled as the stallion arched his neck and pranced beside her. He was always a happy boy and ready to work. She led him into the outdoor ring, and shut the gate behind her. She grabbed the reins, and placed her foot in the sturrip, she pulled herself up into the saddle and slipped her other foot into the sturrip, she smiled as she gave a small cluck and kick, making him walk forwards, she gave him a lot of rein, so he could stretch out his neck. It's very important to let a horse stretch before riding. She did a few laps in walk before clucking and he picked up a smooth trot, this horse had 4 smooth gaits. He snorted and tossed his head with ethusiasm. He loved his job and was always willing to do it. She smiled as he picked up his feet and lengethened his stride Good boy She crooned, as she sat down doing a sitting trot, she closed her eyes for a moment, Raffaello was her favorite horse. She loves being on this stallion, though she wasn't ready to breed him. None of her mares had enough show experience for her, and she didn't want to breed him to a mare that she did not own. She smiled opening her eyes as she crossed the diagonal, sitting twice the middle before picking up her correct diagonal. She smiled as they did lap after lap of trot. Both of them could ride forever, they had a connection, that she didn't have with any of her other horses, thats why in shows they always did well. She smiled and slid her leg back and sat down deep giving a cluck he picked up a canter on his correct lead as always, she smiled and sat down, and asked him to lengthen his stride, he did as he was told. They crossed the center and he did a flying lead change, it looked smooth. She had trained this horse well, she had, had him since he was a foal, saved him from the slaughter house, and what a horse was. She smiled as she shortened his stride, soon getting him to canter in place smiling, she did that for a few seconds before letting him go forward. Before taking him over their warm up jump which was a cross-rail. He jumped it like it was nothing, the first time, but everytime after that he just cantered over it, didn't even attempt to jump. It was too easy for him. She smiled doing that a few times, she always properly warmed up her horses, even if they were bored, she didn't want them pulling muscles or hurting themselves. She did that about 10 times each way, before finally approaching their first jump it was a 4'3 single and he got excited but didnt' quicken his pace. Tessa counted as they got closer and closer, soon they were off towards their next jump. It was a 3'9 oxar. He jumped it early loving to challenge himself. They completed the course it had a total of 7 jumps. Tessa halted him and gave him a pat Excellent! Of course She said and smiled at the grey stallion beneth her. She looked at the jumps and created a new course in her head, and started off towards it. Completing it, without a rail down or touched. This stallion, well anybody would be lucky to have him. He was definatly one in a million. Tessa made up 2 more courses before letting him cool off cantering around the ring once each way then trot, then walked. She dismounted, and opened the gate, taking him up to the stable to give him a gooc complete bath.
